Since 1972, councils have sponsored the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship for boys and girls from the ages of 9 to 14 to provide an athletic outlet and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Kids compete within their own gender and age and progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competitions. 

The Evansville KC will be holding the local Free Throw Contest on January 22, 2023 starting at noon at the St. Boniface school gym right behind St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville.  Admission is free for all participants but a legal guardian must be present at all times.  Participants will be able to shoot 15 to 25 consecutive free throws, the turnout will depend on the amount, and will be score for each one made.  There will be winners in each age group for both male and female contestants.  The winners will be eligible to travel to the regional contest and given the details after this event.
